Dj's work booth

Post  Lord~DjDarkness on Mon Mar 23, 2009 3:25 am

Ok to start with this is ment to be a topic filled with ideas how to make money in rl as a side job or if you get unemployed.

List of things that i came up with that anyone whos age is high enough can do:

-Grass cutting
-Painting houses
-Babysitting
-Heavy lifting (such as moving furniture and such)(Stole this one from you iggy Cool )
-Moving help (Helping people to move from 1 house to another)
-Window washing (For houses and stores)
-Cleaning (House cleaning and stores)
-Helping with school projects and homework
-Rouding for bands
-Dog walking / washing
-Home cooking for elder people
-Male escort (If you got the looks)
-Shopping errands for elders
-Managing karaoke in local bars ( they usually have the euqipment and need a manager for that)
-Dj'ing (Meaning the popular songs with radio fades. Pub's usually allso have therse equipments)
-Helping with renovations (Things like sanding the walls and carrying heavy stuff)
-Computer advicing for elder / normal people

Ok theres a small start for you guy's to come up with some more.
Allso remember big money dont come from 1 person so ask little and get many customers to get most money.
Just asking too much will keep customers away and thats not the goal for these things.
House renovations allways need that little extra help so be confident and just ask the manager of that renovation for a temporary job.
Dont give up if you dont get job's immediately but keep at it since being stubborn will get you a job.
I hope this topic will help people to get some summer job's and job's to help getting at least some sort of money for your own projects and things you want to get.

HTML for money (skills required) you make people homepages for their buissness and get paid for it 3 days work can get you at least 100 euro if not more(though you'll also need photoshop skills and probly flash as well php is quite good skill same as javascripting)

and i thought you mean something else with "grass cutting".. which is a pretty good paying sidejob, prolly better than all the other jobs you have listed there except the computer advice/html ones, those pay pretty good too since you need brains for that.

some other jobs that either me or my friends did:

  • work in a bar/disco
  • give out flyers to people / other forms of advertisement
  • attend surveys and get paid for writing about how you like some new product
  • sell smoking papers at huge reggae concerts and other such events
  • give guitar lessons
  • pizza delivering driver or how is that called in english
  • medicaments delivering for the apothecary

don't start with out of reach... DJ's suggestion "male escort" is prolly more out of reach for all of us than anything else Very Happy

i like it how you wrote "computer advice for elder/normal people" - normal people are usually too dumb to understand a computer, totally right Very Happy

Painting houses prolly is the best paying one and is one of the jobs listed in there that need actuall skills to do it well Cool
Allso one of the easyest jobs to get hold off at summer.

i meant that other type of "grass cutting" that pays best, not the lawnmower thing, that one probably pays least

but out of legal jobs mentioned so far, the computer related ones pay best, like latvian said with html 100+ Euro withing 2-3 days, for computer support / lessons i usually take 20-30 euro per hour and thats a friendship price that people gladly pay since the people that do that full-time take from 50 euro upwards

Painting houses is legal at least in finland as long as you dont get paid for more than 600 for month from it.
After that you need to pay taxes as it becomes a job.
Dont know how it goes in different countryes so i would suggest to ask about it from the taxer or the related goverment offices in other countryes how much you can make before you need to pay taxes for the job your doing.

But for an example i took 1200 from a weeks job of painting a full house from the out side.
Thats a reasonable prize for that short time of doing it.
But in this gotta remember i do this as a profession so i rly can ask that and im supposed to .

Painter jobs like peeling off wallpaper and such i would ask at least 15 per hour as a professional but as a non professional 6-8 per hour would be a reasonable prize.
Painting walls and such would be about the same prize range depending on the difficulty lvl of the job it self.

As for any job goes i would suggest to ask from the taxer or goverment agency for what can and what cant you do with or with out paying taxes.

you cna build computers for people or do programing etc, again these skills don't come easy my HTML skills have gone rusty but I still rember CSS and tables (old) as for the rest I know some decent places to recap and learn...as for the programming, well there are loads and it takes ages (of not getting paid) to learn it to be honest, the best way is to use your hobbies, problem is at this rate no one wants a new PC or software cos of the ecomic problems etc
